Virtual Monte maintains the energy

“The ever-hardening market has been another key topic for industry professionals.”

September was a busy month, with the first virtual Monte Carlo in the middle, bringing with it the same frenetic energy it has during the physical event, just with fewer face-to-face meetings and a serious lack of evening drinks.

Monte wasn’t the only big event last month, as the UK’s High Court revealed its judgment in the Financial Conduct Authority COVID-19 business interruption test case. The ruling found, for the most part, in favour of policyholders, much to the chagrin of some insurers.

This is the topic of our cover feature with expert legal responses and the latest on what is happening next.

The ever-hardening market has been another key topic for industry professionals, particularly with renewals underway. In this issue we have a special feature with expert views on how it could play out. As you might expect, there will be winners and losers.

October is set to be another busy month for the industry with virtual meetings during what would have been the APCIA and Baden-Baden events.

With all this happening, and while the pandemic refuses to loosen its grip on the world, it’ll be January before we know it.

See you all at the next virtual conference.
