With hundreds of votes cast by our readers over the past few months, every category of the awards was extremely competitive, and in many categories it was a close call.

For the second year running, the company awards are divided into categories relating to the various businesses involved in captive insurance, from captive managers to reinsurers to asset managers.

And, to ensure we recognise the accomplishments of remarkable individuals working in smaller organisations, we have included individual awards.

Each category, with the exception of the domicile category, includes individual and company awards.

Given the highly contested nature of the categories, in most cases we have named two additional highly commended companies or individuals that were runners-up. Domiciles across the US received an abundance of nominations, demonstrating the attractiveness of the US for those looking to form or grow their captive.
