Cayman is a force to be reckoned with in the captive insurance world, as evidenced by the breadth and depth of expertise on the Island. Here, we highlight the best of the best service providers, highlighting their efforts and achievements.
Welcome to the 2021 Captive International Cayman Awards! Over the past few months, Captive International readers have cast hundreds of votes in support of service providers they believe stand out from the crowd.
Such is the renown of Cayman service providers, every single category of awards was extremely competitive. From captive managers to reinsurers to actuaries, our awards celebrate the work done by the service providers that make the captives sector what it is: an innovative, creative and thriving industry.
A cause for celebration
Service providers are the metaphorical cogs in the captive insurance clock. With a cohesive collection of providers, the clock ticks along and the captives thrive. Without them, captives across the world would struggle to function.
From a one-man band captive to a captive owned by a multi-billion dollar Fortune 1000 company, every captive needs external support to reach its true potential.
While captive owners surely acknowledge the work undertaken by service providers across the spectrum, it seems that their achievements and expertise are rarely celebrated more widely.
At Captive International we want to bring into the spotlight those who work non-stop behind the scenes to ensure captives are the best they can be.
We know we can’t highlight every service provider that deserves recognition but, by highlighting the best of the best, we pay tribute to all across the industry.
The awards
The awards are based on feedback received from across the captives industry, and in particular from readers of Captive International.
Respondents were asked to name up to three firms or individuals, depending on the question, that they have experience of working with based on their competence, expertise and innovation. Domiciles, firms and individuals were ranked out of 10, with respondents providing the reasoning behind their votes.
Our company awards are divided into categories relating to the various businesses involved in captive insurance.
Each category includes individual and company awards to ensure that, in addition to celebrating the titans of the industry, we recognise the accomplishments of individuals working in smaller organisations. In most categories, we have named two or more highly commended companies or individuals who were just pipped to the post by the category champion.
Congratulations to all the winners and highly commendeds in each category. It’s clear the industry is aware of the tireless work you do and wants you to receive the recognition you deserve.
We also thank those service providers who work around the clock for their clients but did not attract as many votes this time around, and all those who took part in voting for these awards.
We look forward to building on this success for another year.
