The awards are divided into categories relating to the various businesses involved in captive insurance, from management and and legal services to fronting and reinsurance brokerage.

There were separate awards for companies and individuals, to ensure the efforts of outstanding professionals working at smaller or less well resourced firms received the recognition they deserved.

The awards were extremely competitive and in many cases closely run, with hundreds of votes cast by our readers. Votes were also cast for a huge number of different people and institutions.

We have therefore in most cases named two additional companies or individuals that were highly commended in each category.
